For the last seven years I've been quietly struggling against the power and might of DreamWorks, although I have to admit they have no idea a battle is being waged against them.
When I made my first tentative steps into the world of online publishing I so wanted to be the proud owner of antz.com to use as my domain name (well, why not) but DreamWorks and their Antz movie had just about registered every Antz domain on the planet.
DreamWorks, being a huge multinational corporation, doesn't tend to let their domains expire; ever. Despite the fact they haven't used the domains since 2000 they still sit there as testimony to what was a fairly average film at best. A domain graveyard pointing to now non-existent websites.
Antz.co.uk was registered by some small-time British software company who were hoping to put out an Antz movie tie-in game but either didn't get the contract or couldn?t be bothered to use the domain. For six years antz.co.uk has sat there doing nothing.
A while back I noticed that the domain had expired and was held in the registrar's 90-day no-mans-land somewhere between being used and being available and have been making a point of checking back every few days. Today, at long last, Nominet have finally cut it free and so I was able to snap it up before someone else got their paws on it.

I've been talking to various friends over the last couple of months about the end of the blog and most of them said that maybe I should start it up again, but this time post on my own terms so that I don't feel so pressured to add a post each and every day; especially as my life isn't exciting enough to warrant such active posting.
So there you have it... expect more of an insight in the world of Antz very soon. Result.
