I've
always
had a real
love for
modified
motors;
cars that
have been
lovingly
altered
by their
owners
so that
they are
lower,
louder,
faster
and brighter
than a
standard
car. Typically
mod-ed
cars are
the kind
of thing
you'll
see cruising
round the
city centre
pumping
out tunes
at ear-spliting
volume.
I used
to be the
(very)
proud owner
of a Yamaha
green XR3i
with huge
alloys
and blacked-out
glass that
petty much
touched
the gound
when you
went over
speed-bumps.

You
know how
it is; you
visit a site
and then
follow a
few links
and then
you're suddenly
miles away
from anywhere
on a site
about Lithuanian
Nose Flutes
or the history
of the Thames
TV station
graphics.
The trouble
is that you
realise that
you've immersed
yourself
completely
in this internet
backwater
and are finding
it fascinating.
No? Oh well
it must just
be me then.

As
a rule I never
really 'got'
any of the big-budget
US series like
Six Feet Under,
Deperate Housewives
etc but one night
I ended up watching
an early episode
of CSI on LivingTV
and really got
into it. CSI
Las Vegas has
a gritty realism
that most US
drama doesn't
have and which
it makes it so
believible.

There's
no doubt
that
I have
a bit
of a
thing
for trainers.
Tucked
away
around
the house
are at
least
25 pairs
of kicks
ranging
from
Nike
Shox,
BWs and
TNs to
Adidas
Superstars
and Sambas.
There's
something
very
sexy
about
a nice
pair
of boxfresh
trainers
that
you can't
beat.

I’m
not really sure
what it is about
the new Minis
that appeal to
me so much. I’ve
never, until
now, been in
a position to
own a brand new
car, and when
the opportunity
arose I decided
it just had to
be a Mini. They
are so nicely
designed… subtle
design details
that make the
car so obviously
a Mini yet with
some others that
are so obviously
not Mini-like.

Previously
on 24. The
concept of
24 is simple,
imagine an
action television
series that
covers events
in real-time
over 24 one-hour
episodes.
Now imagine
the dedication
it takes
to actually
watch all
24 hours
of the show.
I am proud
to say that
I've managed
to work my
way through
all three
series of
24 without
missing a
single one… although
I did cheat
and buy the
first series
one on DVD
instead of
watching
it on BBC2. |

I
don't know
what it is
about John
Grisham's
novels but
at the moment
I'm completely
hooked on
them; as
my Amazon.co.uk
account proves
without a
shadow of
a doubt.
There is
something
truly gripping
about Grisham's
books that
mean I can't
put his courtroom
stories down.
That said,
however,
The Painted
House is
rubbish. |

The
magic of
clubbing
no longer
works for
me like it
once did
but it played
such an important
part in my
life for
several years
that I just
have to include
it in my
list. I can't
explain why
clubbing
means so
much to me;
but there
was something
so special
about being
in a club
with hundreds
of people
all there
just to dance
and to have
a great time.

There
is
something
really
fascinating
about
Home
Improvement
shows;
it’s
the
combination
of
the
voyeurism
of
peaking
into
other
people’s
houses
and
seeing
what
they’ve
done
and
on
a practical
side
a great
way
of
picking
up
hints
for
my
own
home.
Plus
there's
always
the
chance
you
might
get
to
see
Linda
Barker
destroy
a woman's
teapot
collection
in
Changing
Rooms.

Back
in the
eighties
the BBC
showed
their adaptation
of Agatha
Christie's
Miss Marple
stories
on Sunday
evenings.
There was
something
about this
series
that I
just loved;
it could
have been
the seemingly
dotty old
lady detective.
ITV's recent
attempt
to revive
the character
just doesn't
cut it. |
